Actually, here's the full note I posted on @sdotglass IG:
I was an art kid but had a weird relationship w it. Couldn't figure out how to be into what I was into in my world. I made films in early 20s but didn't like the life of one for me one for them or like 10 for them one for me maybe. I didn't get how to live that way and make stuff. So I had DJing as another thing. I loved it and could get paid to do it. Knew it'd turn into more. Events, label, more. I thought ok this is my 2nd best life, worst case it's pretty awesome. And I had a great life w it. Best case, I'm gonna do good stuff there and in 5, 10, 15 yrs the same people who supported me there will support me to make films when I'm ready. My work at Apple Music was beginning of that shift. But it wasn't just film it was everything. I found more than anything I'd developed an ability to make stuff, and a filter to id what works. And form was amorphous from there. So it's music. Clothes. Writing. Talking. Film. Lots. This is the first thing I want to share. It felt like a nice introduction to this world I've been quietly building directly for 3 years and really building toward my whole life. But that's what I'm doing. I see everything before this as representing partial versions of me. And now I found how to make everything present all of me. @bandcamp preview. Out everywhere Thursday August 6th. Link in bio also.
